March Moving Sale in Carrollton 30% – 50% Savings!

On April 1st our Carrollton and Denton shops will consolidate into one location at our newly remodeled Denton address. The consolidated Pender’s location will allow us to carry a larger selection of print music and maintain the personal service you’ve come to expect from our company.

To help us prepare for this transition, we’re offering you the chance to purchase the remaining keyboard, vocal, elementary, and handbell music from our Carrollton shop at 30% – 50% savings, through March 31st. These savings are limited to the on-hand quantities at the Carrollton location, so don’t delay! Loyalty Members will still receive points on these sale purchases that may be used in the future.

Starting April 1st, we invite all our Carrollton area customers to continue to shop with us at our Denton location. Please note that special orders taken in Carrollton during March will be available for pickup and shipping from the Denton location.

TMEA Convention 2017

JOIN US FEBRUARY 8-11, 2017 IN SAN ANTONIO

Pender’s looks forward to setting up 40 booth spaces at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio for the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention. This will take place February 8-11 and is the largest event of its kind in the nation, with more than 26,000 attendees. Come by to check out our stock of sheet music and related materials from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday or from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

*VanderCook College of Music will allow attendees of Joy of Singing 1 hour of graduate credit. To be eligible, a student must have a degree in a music-related discipline. Any exceptions must be approved directly by VanderCook College of Music. To earn the credit, a student must attend two full days of Joy of Singing workshops. Students must also complete and submit the assigned project within two weeks after the completion of workshops: a lesson plan for at least one selected choral piece from the Joy of Singing workshops that you attend. A template will be provided for the lesson plan. Tuition: $320, due in full with VanderCook College of Music registration. **Spotlight topic sessions are 30-minute “mini-clinics” by presenters on a topic relevant to the age group focused on that day.

Those categories with “movement” specified will have John Jacobson choreography demonstrations integrated into the session, as time allows. Access to John Jacobson choreography videos and notes for 20 new songs is included in the registration fee for all school sessions.

Sacred Choral Reading Session January 2017

Come join one of our favorite clinicians, Patti Drennan, for a Mixed-Publisher Reading Session. Pender’s Music Co. will present new Spring & Easter choral music from various publishers including Alfred, Beckenhorst, Hal Leonard, Hope, Lorenz, and Shawnee. Expand the fellowship by participating with up to four members of your congregation (example: director plus three). Registration includes complimentary music packet and morning refreshments.

About Wynn-Anne Rossi, from her website:

Wynn-Anne Rossi is a dynamic composer and unique music educator. She has a specialty for bringing the art of composition to young musicians and has been offering composition residencies in Minnesota schools since 2003, inspiring hundreds of students to write their own music. Her compositions have reached audiences throughout the United States and overseas. She has over 100 publications, primarily for piano, which are widely distributed online and in music stores.

Active as a presenter, Wynn-Anne is known for her innovative lectures, workshops and master classes. Musical outreach has taken her from coast to coast and beyond the borders of the United States. Her talks often center on the importance of musical self-expression. Discover Latin is one of her most popular presentations, inspired by the 8-book piano series, “Música Latina”.

Rossi was educated at the University of Colorado in theory and composition. Further training included choral conducting at Harvard University and jazz pedagogy through the University of Illinois, and she’s also studied composition under Pulitzer Prize recipient Aaron Jay Kernis.

Oklahoma Bandmasters Summer Convention 2016

Pender’s will exhibit at the 2016 Oklahoma Bandmasters Summer Convention on Tuesday, July 19th and Wednesday, July 20th at the Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We will have a great selection of marching band, concert band and jazz ensemble music on hand along with a variety of band texts, CD’s, DVD’s, music gifts and accessories. The 2016-19 OSSAA concert band PML list has been announced and we will have the new additions in stock. On July 11 and 12, Pender’s Music Co. will be at the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association 2016 Summer Convention in Norman showing off a large selection of new music for choir, elementary, and voice. We’ll also have OMEA All-State, OCDA All-State, Circle the State, and regional honor choir music in stock!
